Religious Education Curriculum
Religious Education at Ark William Parker Academy
Religious Education at Ark William Parker uses the structure of engage, enquire, express and evaluate within its teaching and learning:
Engage: ‘hook’ the students by connecting the learning with the experience within the classroom.
Enquire: students are engaged by questioning - invited to explore more deeply with the enquiry - “Why is forgiveness so important for Christians?”
Express: A student makes their own responses individually or in groups to the story/questions/lesson content - identify and reflects upon the meaning.
Evaluate: students evaluate the impact and effect on individuals and society.
The department utilises a number of strategies for engaging students in their ability to follow The Four E’s of learning.
