A great term with attendance!

Attendance at Ark William Parker has improved considerably in the last term. Our boys have shown a commendable dedication to their studies and have shown the perseverance to attend school every day. We are sure that the results of this will show in their end of year assessments in the summer! Have a great half-term and see you back at school on Monday 4th June! Remember - Attendance is important!

1066 Schools’ Book Award 2018

This year was the award’s 10th Anniversary (2008-2018) and students from local schools have been avidly reading this year’s shortlist. The winner ‘Running on the Roof of the World’ was announced at a presentation event at Ark Helenswood Academy on Wednesday 14th March with all the participating schools in attendance.

Helenswood students opened the event and this was followed by a student from each of the participating schools reading an excerpt from one of the shortlisted books.  Sam Tomlin represented Ark William Parker and did a fantastic job reading an excerpt from ‘Ring of Roses’.

Kate O’Hearn, who won the 1066 Schools’ book award in 2009 was guest author at the event and announced the competition winners and the overall winner of the book award. Well done to David Edgeworth for winning one of the competitions.

It was a great evening and the boys were a credit to the Academy…well done!
