Future chefs cook their way into the final local round

Enthusiastic Year 10 students, from ARK William Parker Academy, showed off their culinary talents as they competed in the FutureChef Competition.

Springboard’s FutureChef introduces young people to cooking, helping to develop their skills; developing direct work experience in the industry and providing expert advice on the career options and entry routes available, all through the intervention of local Industry professionals. It provides young people with a wonderful insight into what it’s like to be a chef and the related career opportunities.

Macauley Willard and Jack Rowe celebrated after winning the Academy heat and cooking their way into the final local round. They cooked delicious pan fried fillet of sea bass with a lemon butter sauce, served with a pomme puree, wilted spinach and garlic prawns, followed by warm apple and plum pudding with Chantilly cream.

The boys are extremely happy to progress to the next round and are looking forward to creating some more appetising dishes.
