Early closure - Monday 11 December

Due to the adverse weather conditions, we have decided to close the school for the health and safety of our students and staff. We are calling all parents to advise them of the early closure. We expect the academy to be open tomorrow (Tuesday) as usual. Please check the website and our facebook page for further updates.

Staff and students - please wear sensible footwear tomorrow (Tuesday) - trainers will be allowed for this day only.

This world of ours. Love will win.

You cannot beat hate with more hate

On Wednesday 7th June, the whole of Ark William Parker Academy gathered together to reflect on the recent tragic events in London and Manchester. Acting Principal Stephanie Newman led the assembly which focused on love and respect of our British values.

Our students listened intently to the message of terrorism being about ignorance and hate, but not religion. Their compassionate response demonstrated that they fully understood that the only way to combat hate is with education and love.

Our students were set a challenge on what they could do to make the world a better place.

Several students have already offered ideas which included supporting our local community, helping people with their shopping and giving to charity.

Acting Principal Stephanie Newman said, "I am so proud of the compassion and humanity that our students showed during the assembly; how they were touched by the recent events and their eagerness to do something good to make the world a better place for all."
