Y10 team march forward in both County and National football competitions

Well done to our Year 10 football team who have won two games in the last couple of weeks.

In the County Cup, they comprehensively beat Uckfield School who defended stubbornly to keep the score at 3-0. Palmer scored after good link up play with Warren and 2 goals from Legg ensured Parker continues in the County Cup. Cooper, a recent addition to the squad produced an excellent goal line clearance at the end to maintain a clean sheet. Parker face Claremont in Round 4.

The team also travelled to Bedes School, Upper Dicker in the National Cup. An excellent competitive game of football produced many good moments of play but both teams couldn’t be separated after 70 minutes of normal time and 10 minutes of extra time. The Parker team have become quite familiar with penalty shoot-outs in recent years and they used this experience to come through again this time round - Cradddock saving Bedes’ first two penalties; Ward, Mapstone, Palmer and Winters finding the net with their efforts.

A repeat of last year’s County Cup final awaits with Cardinal Newman school visiting Ark William Parker in the next round
