Unbeaten Hastings team reach finals of County Cup
Congratulations to our Year 7 Football team who have won through to the Sussex Schools County Cup Final and will now play Durrington in the final after the Easter holidays at the Sussex Head F.A. Quarters in Lancing.
The team travelled to Warden Park with hope of reaching their first County Final since 2011.
Excellent build-up play down the right flank between Jamal Lubanga and Jamal Palmer set Joe Skinner on the edge of the box; from here, he found the corner of the goal to put the Ark William Parker team one up after 5 minutes. Ark William Parker were dominant, attempting to play superb football throughout and goals from the impressive Lubanga and influential Benn Ward put Ark William Parker 3-0 up at half time.
Lubanga added a fourth goal before Warden Park finally came into the contest with a goal of their own. Ollie Hull came off the bench to score with a clinical finish from close range before Palmer scored a deserved goal to make it 6-1. Warden Park scored a late consolation, but Parker can be pleased with their efforts so far and look forward to the final against Worthing based school, Durrington.
En route to the final, Ark William Parker’s team have also beaten Hove Park, The Regis School, Blatchington Mill and Dorothy Stringer.
Coach Jimmy Elford said, "The students have shown great commitment and team spirit; they have worked tirelessly together to achieve an incredible result. We wish them well and hope the team will continue to reach their full potential."
Squad: Cody Craddock, Jamal Palmer, Spencer Winters, Freddie Legg, Jamal Lubanga, Benn Ward, Joe Skinner, Nathan Corke, Alfie Peacock, Luke Warren, Ollie Hull.
