An entertaining way to remind students to remain safe around roads

Year 7 students recently participated in our annual event exploring pedestrian safety. The presentation, funded by Sussex Safer Roads, was led by three performing artists from Performance in Education.

The aim of the engaging presentation was to inform students of issues that affect them as pedestrians and help them to remain safe around roads.

The theatre production focussed on the potential consequences of lapses in concentration and risk taking behaviour around roads. With an entertaining mixture of lively theatre, mask work, audience participation and statistics about road accidents, the students were reminded of the dangers of using mobile phones and listening to music whilst near busy roads.

Mrs Iglinski PSHRE coordinator commented, “The event was very useful indeed, covering many pertinent topics; engaging the students with excellent interactive delivery.”
