Athletes achieve 2nd place in Hastings and Rother Sportshall competition

On Tuesday 16th January Ark William Parker students took part in the Hastings and Rother Sportshall Athletics competition that was held at St Leonards Academy.

Seven schools from the local area brought both a girls and a boys team to the event which involved the students competing in athletic running races and some field events.

The Ark William Parker team made a strong start by winning the obstacle relay and the students went on to produce some outstanding performances. After the results had been counted up the team finished second and were only two points off the winning school. The team was made up of Harry Medhurst, Harry Cooper, Ryan Standen, Josh Colvin, Gabe Worely, Hayden Hoxey, Leonardo Maso and Jules Marchand.

Teacher Graham Morris said “The students were a credit to the school and produced some outstanding performances. Sportshall Athletics is an exciting event and although the students were a little gutted to miss out on 1st place by 2 points they were still very proud to finish second.”
