Our Science department invited a team from the Herstmonceux Observatory Science Centre into the school to deliver some fantastic sessions to year 7, 9 and 10 students.
The team brought their blow up planetarium which they put up in the main hall. On entering the dome, our students were astounded as they were transported into space. They saw parts of the milky way whizzing past them and were given, depending on what best suited their curriculum, either in depth tours of planets within our solar system or the life cycle of the birth and death of stars.
Ms McCall Head of Science said "Thank you to the team from Herstmonceux Observatory, our students were very impressed with the experience. The content delivered helped them reinforce the current space topics they have been studying."
