Students meet Prince Harry
Recently three of our students had the extremely fortunate opportunity to meet a member of the royal family.
The students were given the opportunity to meet Prince Harry through the academy’s involvement in the RFU’s All Schools Rugby Programme. The programme has been developed by the Rugby Football Union to increase the amount of rugby played in schools in the build up to the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England.
Prince Harry, who is a Patron of the All Schools Programme, met up with schools who are taking part. He joined in with training sessions on the pitch at Twickenham, the home of English rugby. Prince Harry was joined by Jason Leonard, England’s most capped front row forward, and Jason Robinson, who scored the winning try in the 2003 World cup win for England in Australia.
The day enabled the students to work with kit designers Canterbury to create a bespoke kit consisting of twenty shirts that ARK William Parker Academy rugby teams will be proudly wearing from March this year. On the whole it was a fantastic experience and the boys really enjoyed it!
